Thrilling Experience in Trang Province

This is a must to try if you seeking for an extremely thrilling adventure during your stay at Trang province. To begin with, me and my colleagues went to Trang Province to attend Thai wedding, of course, we included more side trips to enjoy ourselves in Trang. We hired a van to bring us from Trang Airport to one of the popular Chinese restaurant (which is very yummy but I didn’t get the name I will update this post once I know it), after we had a wonderful breakfast we quickly headed to "Le Khaokob Cave".

Boat pier on the main entrance of Le Khaokob Cave.
That time, I have no idea what to see inside the cave, on my mind I’m just thinking that we are gonna have a boat ride inside the cave. I looked around and checked cave instructions that we are not allowed raising hands or knees when we lay our back on boat. I still don’t have idea what will happen because even my colleagues don’t know what’s inside or if someone knows, can’t explain to me. Entrance fee is 300Baht each and boat capacity is up to 5-6 persons.

I took the first boat with other 3 colleagues plus 2 boat guides. On our first leg, rowing at the river and I thought it’s so hot and boring. I really have huge interest with nature but I think that time we should be doing something more.

Second Leg -  we have to lay down our body in the boat for us to get inside the cave proper, it’s the beginning of my excitement. I saw variety of stalactites with different forms in which boat guides made names already like elephant, umbrella etc. When we reached the deepest part of the cave, we took off the boat of walk for couple minutes to see the whole stunning beauty of the cave.

Third and final leg – once we ride again to the boat, I have this feeling of nervous and thrilled. My hands are sweating and a bit faster of heart beat. Boat guides started to move and that time they told us to lie on our back and whatever happens do not raise hands or knees or feet keep lying on the boat.

This is the most thrilling part. Going further and further, cave space became narrower and narrower. I know that I am not claustrophobic so I can open my eyes and literally facing the ceiling of the cave, it was like a few away from my face. Seeing the rock pass inches from your face is quite exhilarating and at times it feels like the overhanging rock will smash into your face. I heard many people screaming like they was thrown in the highest area they could imagine. It takes 15-20 minutes on that part of the cave.

After ceiling became higher and saw light from outside, we breathe a sigh of relief and everyone just laugh on what we encountered earlier. Suggest that don’t take this adventure on rainy season, cave water might be higher than dry season.

So far, this is one of unforgettable extreme adventure I’ve done on my past travels aside from Sagada Cave in Philippines.
